GAMYU: Hualapai traditional greeting

Owned and operated by the Hualapai Tribe, Grand Canyon West welcomes millions of visitors each year to discover unforgettable ways to explore one of the world’s seven natural wonders—on foot, in the air, and on the water.

About the Hualapai Tribe

Visiting Grand Canyon West means entering the sovereign Hualapai Reservation, established in 1883 and home to more than 1,600 people. Owned and operated by the Hualapai Tribe, Grand Canyon West offers a distinctive alternative to the national park, inviting guests to experience the Tribe’s living culture and traditions. Rooted in the belief that the universe moves in an unbroken circle, the Hualapai view the Canyon and the Colorado River as living, spiritual beings, and they welcome visitors to walk their land and connect with this enduring worldview.
